This diary is a management tool for ongoing research on the history of early egyptology. It will mainly focus on French egyptologists of the second half of the 19th century, but I do not intend to deprive myself of the possibility to deal with their foreign colleagues nor other periods.
It will allow me to share data collected from archival and bibliographical analysis, and to draw preliminary syntheses prior to larger works designed for publication. I plan of feeding it with prosopography posts mustering documented activities of various egyptology actors (scholars, teachers, museum and field staves, civil servants and amateurs).
This diary will also be an experimentation platform for formating and visualising these collected data: maps, text edition, etc.
It will finaly be a place to share some curiosities found among archive documents.
